《湖北最美》丛书是一套面向大众、面向世界，为配合国家“中国文化走出”工作而设计的介绍湖北优秀非物质文化遗产的系列图文读本。丛书选取中国民间艺术中最有代表性、最具视觉美感的品类，以图文并举的方式解读作品的历史沿革、文化内涵、民风习俗、工艺流程与美学特色等。包括黄梅挑花、阳新布贴、天门糖塑、通山木雕、孝感雕花剪纸、潜江皮影雕刻艺术，均为湖北非物质文化中一些比较有代表性的、具有深厚文化积淀的民族民间造型艺术，将以图文并茂的形式呈现给广大读者。该书在具备一定审美作用的同时还兼具传播湖北文化的深远价值。
