Through the strokes of a Chinese character, you can see clear the world and people, people's fate, and the mysteries of Chinese nationality. This book tells stories of the four disciples of a juren (i.e., a successful candidate in the imperial examinations at the provincial level)in late Qing Dynasty, all of whom were born and brought up in a village in Huangpi, Hubei Province.
