本书作者田天为湖北省作协副主席，武汉文学院专业作家，文学创作一级职称，先后任《芳草》编辑、《少年文学报》社长、总编。作品《你是一座桥》获全国第四届“五个一工程奖”，《田天报告文学选》获第四届全国少数民族文学创作“骏马奖”。作者田苹为湖北恩施州文联名誉主席，中国作家协会会员、中国电影家协会会员，著有影视作品多部，曾获国际A类电影节奖。
This well-structured book combines touching scenes, vivid characters and novel words and expressions. It is a reportage that tells about true historical facts about Zhang Fuqing with real sentiments. Zhang Fuqing is a hero, a “National Outstanding Party Member” and the winner of the “Medal of the Republic”. He stayed true to his mission, treated fame and wealth lightly and devoted himself to the benefits of Chinese people throughout his life. As a reportage, it features historical authenticity and aesthetics and keeps up with the times. The book narrates how Zhang Fuqing joined the army and the CPC in 1948, was later transferred to civilian work and got retired, covering major historic events participated in by him, including the Yichuan Battle, Yongfeng Battle, the march towards Xinjiang, the founding of the People's Republic of China, and flood-fighting and emergency rescues. It underlines selfless dedication and absolute devotion of Party members to the Chinese nation, the CPC and Chinese people, and illustrates what a hero really means in different historical contexts, that is, a hero is the person who remains loyal to the CPC and committed to interests of the Chinese nation and benefits of Chinese people throughout his/her life. This book describes life experience of Zhang Fuqing in the eyes of a descendant, helping the descendants and current readers understand the inner world of the hero.
The author Tian Tian is the vice chairman of Hubei Provincial Writers' Association and a professional writer in Wuhan Literary Institute, and has been awarded Class-I title in literary creation. He was also an editor of Fangcao and the president and editor-in-chief of the Children's Literature. His work You are a Bridge received the “4th Five-One Project Award”, and Selected Reportage by Tian Tian was awarded the 4th “Steed Award” for ethnic minority writers. Tian Ping, another author of this book, is the honorary chairman of the Writers' Association of Enshi Tujia & Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hubei, a member of the China Writers Association and a member of the China Film Association. Tian Ping is also active in films and television programs and was awarded prizes in international film festivals of Category A.
