　　On the basis of comprehensive data collection and field work, this book systematically and comprehensively records 406 existing ancient well-documented bridges in Hubei Province with unknown ages in the combined form of pictures and texts. For each ancient bridge found, the geographical location and exact coordinates, shape, architectural characteristics, relevant data, historical changes and status quo, the level of cultural relic preservation, etc., are roughly given and illustrated with panoramic and local detail photos.
