　　The book is divided into eight parts, which respectively discusses the establishment, expansion, recovery, political operation structure, municipal construction, architectural art and style, the role of the settlements in political events and the performance of important personages. It also expounds the practical significance of the study of Hankou settlements to Wuhan’s economy and society. The book briefly summarizes the characteristics of political operation structure of each concession, and gives a wonderful account of the origin and construction process of more than 60 roads in the Hankou settlements as well as the “World Architecture Museum”.
