　　书稿搜集了三峡地区目前考古所发现的从旧石器时代到元明时期的全部资料，结合相关学科的知识，从多角度对三峡地区考古文化进行了分析和研究，弄清楚了各个历史时期文化内涵及其演变序列，研究了三峡地区考古文化与周邻地区考古文化的关系，探讨了三峡地区古代社会发展、人类居住环境、农业、饲养业、渔猎业、盐业、手工业等发展情况，并结合有关文献阐述了三峡地区各历史时期的文化现象。

　　For the manuscript, all the archaeological findings with regard to the period from the Paleolithic Age to the Yuan and Ming dynasties in the Three Gorges area have been collected. The manuscript, combined with relevant disciplines, analyzes the archaeological culture of the Three Gorges area from multiple angles, identifies the area's cultural connotations and evolution sequence in each historical period, and examines the relationship between the archaeological culture of the Three Gorges area and that of its neighboring areas. Generally, it deals with the social development of the Three Gorges area in ancient times, the changes in human habitats, and the development of agriculture, husbandry, fishing and hunting, salt industry, and handicraft industry in the area. Moreover, by reference to relevant documents, it also elaborates on the area's cultural phenomena in different historical periods.
