　　With remote sensing images as the main data source and reference to socio-economic statistics and field survey, the book has carried out the status survey, dynamic monitoring and comprehensive analysis on Sri Lanka's land, vegetation, surface water, ocean and other environmental resources as well as economic, transportation, urban, agricultural, and tourism development. The book can provide scientific evidences for an objective, accurate, systematic, and comprehensive understanding of the status quo and progress of Sri Lanka's ecological environment and socioeconomic development, and for further policies for the protection of ecological environment and biodiversity. Moreover, it offers information for the comprehensive cooperation in science and technology between two countries.
